about me
Hi! I’m Sophia Smith, an 8-year-old race car driver and I LOVE going fast! I race flat karts—keep an eye out for my pink #10 car on the track!
I started racing in 2025 and had an amazing rookie season, becoming the Points Champion at 209 Speedway. This year, I moved up to the super competitive Chowchilla series, and won the 2025 Chowcilla Barn Burner Series in the Beginner Flat class after a 12-race season.
I’m looking for awesome partners who want to support young racers like me and be part of the local racing community. Let’s win together!

Kyle Larson’s Elk Grove homecoming draws young racers and lifelong fans
Eight-year-old Sophia Smith of Clements, near Galt, showed off her midget kart as she waited to meet Larson. She’s been racing for just over a year, introduced to the sport by her dad.
“I like racing because anyone can do it at any age,” Smith said. “No matter how much you love motor sports, anyone can do it. …I look up to the NASCAR champions who have ever won, (like Larson). I’m trying to do that now that I know how to drive a car, and I’m trying to make this my whole career.”
